Tookie Limited (“Tookie” – www.Tookie.co), the medical device company from Liverpool, has won a place in an exhibition of the most cutting edge innovations from businesses across the country at the UK’s largest innovation show in November.
Tookie was one of 100 companies nationwide to be selected to showcase its innovation to over 2,500 attendees at Innovate 2016 on November 2nd and 3rd in Manchester.
Tookie is a HealthCare Innovation Business, driving ideas from concept to reality.
The Tookie Vest for Oncology is the first of Tookie’s product designs to be launched. No other such product exists. Generally, there are "makeshift" "solutions" - but nothing that provides constructive, consistent and robust support, to a patients fitted with a central venous catheter, in UK or internationally.
Health benefits of all Tookie designs/concepts are broad - with the fundamental ethos of enabling patients using Tookie products to return to a life with a level of normality, freedom & independence.
"As a children's surgeon, I see first hand the concerns that parents have around care and security of their child's central line and also the implications of premature line removal. The tookie vest aims to give both actual line security and also peace of mind to families, something that we have been waiting for in central line care."
