Tookie presents at the NIHR about the journey to NHS adoption

#ALifeMoreNormal 17th January 2019

Stephen Tooke, Commercial Director of Tookie Limited, gave a presentation about the company’s pathway to NHS adoption, which included support and co-operation with professional organisations from across the NIHR and the wider healthcare industry. The video from the NIHR Clinical Research Network National Industry Meeting in October 2018 is available to view now.

Tookie’s aim was to introduce four medical products to the NHS: the paediatric oncology vest, the paediatric renal vest and the adult renal for females and males.

Its innovation pathway started with the help of the NIHR, which introduced Tookie to other important organisations from the healthcare industry. For example, Devices for Dignity and the Titch Network gave the company professional infrastructure support. Funding provided by the Yorkshire and Humber AHSN facilitated Tookie organising initial patient focus groups, as well as receiving regulatory advice.

Collaboration with varied and trusted bodies from the healthcare sector and Tookie’s strong medical evidence successfully supported the company on its journey to NHS adoption.
